I expect it would be the same for the US, though quite what that will look like with regards to testing and quarantine, at either end, remains to be seen.

People were even travelling to Ibiza against FCO advice this summer, with self-isolation required upon arrival back in the UK. I wouldn't do it, but I'm keeping an open mind regarding future US prospects.
The trouble is if people cannot just be patient instead of been selfish, maybe this virus could be controlled.
Why open when most things have been taken away for the next few months?

Maybe people should think about people who have lost loved ones instead of worrying about their Disney fix.

I don’t need a Disney fix I just want to return to a property we’ve owned for over 20 years.

I think every country needs to consider opening the borders worldwide by early 2021 or I genuinely believe the travel industry will be pretty much over. If the countries want to test people on arrival and you have to quarantine when returning home, that can be the individuals choice in whether they decide to travel or not.
But the option has to be there.

Sorry but this really pees me off, do you think just because some of us are wanting to go on holidays that that means we dont care about people who have died, totally wrong. I'm gutted about all my lost holidays but for goodness sake, that doesnt make me someone who doesn't care about anyone who has lost family due to Covid. 😳

I'd travel tomorrow if I could, I have no fears over a virus that has a 99.9% survival rate in my age and health bracket. If I'm needed to self isolate after no worries I'll ask for an extra 2 weeks holiday from work. Not ideal but id do almost anything to go away. Must be my longest period without a holiday.

I must be one of the selfish ones then. My family went on holiday to Greece. We took all of the same precautions we would if we were going to Tesco or indeed going to work given we’ve both worked right through the pandemic.

My husband and I are both serving in the military - we’ve made plenty of sacrifices over the years, but for us, we never know when we’ll deploy again for 6 months, so will we take the opportunity to holiday with our son when it’s available? Yes. Does that mean I don’t care about people who have lost their lives due to COVID? No.

Bit of a ridiculous statement really.

I don't think anyone working in the travel industry would consider it selfish.

The fact that anyone might be able to still travel at all next year will be partly possible because of those still travelling and supporting the industry.

We had a great holiday in Crete this summer, and hoping to have a great holiday in the US next summer.

I agree, there's absolutely no need for that comment. Unfortunately some people are only happy when they're miserable and don't like seeing other people being positive and upbeat. They do all they can to pull them down.
