Hi Kerry
We did Honolulu a few years ago and are going back with our friends next year. You will love it .We stayed in a hotel in Lewers street which is just off Waikiki beach. Hanuama bay is fab and I have many happy memories of our time spent there .There is a fab hotel on the North shore called the Turtle bay Hilton which has got fantastic views and a fab restaurant.If you have a car you can stop off anywhere around the island, we also stopped at the small beach where " From here to Eternity" beach scene was filmed but it is protected so you cant actually walk onto it. The shopping is Fab too there are a few huge shopping centres ... Royal Hawaiian,Pearl Ridge and Waikiki market place are the ones I can remember.The nightlife is good too with lots of hotels along Waikiki having live music at night from traditional Hawaiian music and dancers to Elvis impersonators. my friend did San Fransisco and looking at her photos is like every stereotypical picture of the place you imagine, but absolutely fantastic and real. i hope you enjoy it as much as they did.
