Thank you for sharing your experience. I am definitely done with children (have 3 and that’s more than enough!) and I have lost two stone and am at my perfect weight which I am working hard to maintain. It is not something I take lightly and am very aware that recovery will be difficult - hence taking 10 years to make the decision! Glad to hear that despite the pain of recovery people are still happy they went through with it.

I had the horrible overhang , couldn't wear fitted dresses as if they fit me on top they were too tight in the middle. It took me 30 years of hating myself before I got the chance to do it.
I never would have gone abroad to get it done . It cost me £6k don't know how much it is now, but it's money well spent, Can't say I had any pain afterwards but the corset was itchy and I got hot . You can't do much for the first week or 2 , then gentle stuff for another week or so. I was back at work in 6 weeks |

My overhang is horrible but it’s also the horrible state of my skin. It’s like somebody blew a ballon up far bigger than it was supposed to go and then deflated it. I’m at a point where I just don’t want all that skin anymore. I’m happy with my weight now if it just wasn’t for that. Not being able to buy normal jeans as they won’t fit because of my stomach. Not being able to wear a swimming costume and dreading holidays and social situations where it comes up. It just continues to chip away at me year after year and I just want to do something about it!

It also got rid of my stretch marks which was a bonus ,that was the bit they cut off , and it helped with back pain that I suffered from for 20 years as all the extra weight in that area was gone. The bit they threw away weighed 5lb.
It's a big scar from hip to hip but that's far better than the belly Edited at 01:56 PM. |

Hi all, just a bit of an update. Been to see my doctor. She was nice but she basically told me that having a tummy tuck wouldn’t make me feel better about myself and in most cases they go back to how they were. Not sure what to do now. She did recommend a couple of surgeons though.

I havent heard anything like this...it would only go back if you put on weight and lost it again or had another baby. It doesnt just come back from nowhere!
If you want to do it then do it. Can't say anything for Nuffield where you stay but i'm going to get a breast reduction with Nuffield next year most likely. Heard nothing but good things about them. Have a look on the Nuffield website, I know they do free presentatons where you come along and they talk about the surgeries they do.

I had cosmetic surgery (not a tummy tuck though) with The hospital group in Bromsgrove and cannot recommend them enough.
