DLP having a food festival again this autumn?
Haven't seen anything official.
Just wondering when would be a good time to go in early September, to catch the Lion King festival but miss the Run Disney weekend. If the food festival was on too, so much the better!

I saw that the food festival is coming back just the other day. I got excited too, as it's on when I'm there. I can't remember the exact dates though. Sorry! X

Last year we went the Mon-Wed before Run Disney that weekend and honestly it was so good! Went on all the rides we wanted numerous times, many just in EMH. Tried the food and wine festival, watched all the shows (mind you Mickey and the Magician finished the day before we arrived but we couldn’t handle a Sunday just for one show). Character meet and greets were easy and not too long. Everyone just seemed overall pleasant. We did ADC lunch, Princess for a day package, the afternoon tea signature package at Lucky Nugget and then sit down meals at night and didn’t feel at all rushed or like we had missed out on doing things even with those events ‘eating’ into our park time.
A very different experience to our trip in 2017 which was the start of Sept and coincided with the end of the Spanish school holidays - rookie mistake. We will never do that again. We did see more Run disney ppl arriving on the Wednesday and it was starting to feel busier but could have also been as locals aren’t at school then? Either way, very manageable. |

Mange tout Rodney!
We have booked for 12-15 Sep. We did the winter food festival and enjoyed it. Crazy prices for tiny portions of course, but nice. Looking forward to ‘thrilling my tastebuds’! (As for the Spanish going back to school late - yep, we were there the first few days of Sep 2017 also. Not as bad as any given weekend at DLP, but still, not quiet.)
