We have made a few trips to Las Vegas and we are thinking of it for next April too. We aren’t interested in gambling but have spent an hour here and there on the penny slots. For our next trip, we are thinking of dressing up in black tie and doing a very late night in a casino as a one off. We will have a very strict budget for this.
On previous trips we have spent quite a lot of time exploring the different hotels. We have also made trips to Hoover Damn and we have done overnight trips to Grand Canyon and Bryce Canyon. In April we are going to do a day trip to Death Valley, we have never made it downtown before so we will do that and we will maybe go to the waterpark too. Your daughter might enjoy the Adventurdome at Circus Circus. Edited at 11:27 AM. |

Hi,
We have been a few times to Vegas. We don’t have kids but you could definitely make it a holiday for kids. The hotels and casinos are amazing. I think they would really have a huge impression on a young person. Some of the hotels have really great attractions that younger people would like. The Bellagio fountains, the gondolas ta the Venetian, the dolphin and tiger attraction at the mirage and the aquarium at the Mandalay bay. There is tons of shopping as well. I would also agree that there is loads to see out of Vegas. The Grand Canyon is amazing, you can quite quickly drive to red rock canyon and it’s not too far to go to Valley of Fire. Hoover dam as well. I’ve not been to Death Valley but would love to go there. And there are some great shows as well. We love ‘LOVE ‘ at the Mirage. It’s such a great show. We also went one time to the Clark County museum which was really good. It has old houses from through the years. Also the Neon Boneyard where all the old neon signs go. It’s up near downtown where there is a container park that’s a really nice place to spend an evening. Very different vibe from anywhere else. Sorry about the ramble, can you tell we love the place |

You have to be over 18 to go in the container park at night so would.need to do that during the day.

I’m sorry you had that experience. We went three times in 2019 (Feb, May, November) and only occasionally had that experience. I wouldn’t hesitate to take a child but I guess it depends on your comfort levels.

I love Vegas and saw plenty of children there - none of which seemed bored! The outside shows at the hotels and just the general ambiance and theming were enough to keep me happy and I am not a very demanding tourist! Maybe a trip to the Grand Canyon?
