I can’t comment on the Venetian as we haven’t stayed there.
What I can say are two things; I don’t get the whole stay mid strip thing. Wherever you are you’ll walk. A lot. We have only ever stayed at the MGM and while it is pretty much at one end of the strip it makes no odds to us. If you’re fussed about the pool are do some research into what you want. We love the lazy river at the MGM which is why we go back . Can’t beat floating with a cocktail . |

I should have been checking out of The Palazzo today, had the Cosmopolitan booked for the start of our road trip too. I'll probably book the same when we try again next year.

Mid is just a good starting point for first time visitors, IMO. It's easier to divide up the walking. One day you walk north, the next you head south. Doesn't feel like you're constantly covering the same ground as when you're at either end. Having said that, I'd probably stay north (Palazzo or Wynn) if there's a next time as I rarely spend time on the south strip. Just not my scene.
But you do bring up a good point about the pools. Definitely one to look into if you're a pool person. I'm not so never factor that in but the quality definitely differs a lot between the resorts. MGM would be top of the pool list. Edited at 09:39 PM. |

It was still there 2 years ago. We did have breakfast there once and it was good. However, Bouchon (in the tower part) was better for breakfast - if you want a "posh" breakfast that is. Had my 40th birthday breakfast in there!
There's also a Denny's literally next door to the hotel for a touch of Florida familiarity! And Vegas has a Bahama Breeze

Even Venetian standard rooms are lovely, separate lounge area, three TV’s including one in the bathroom! I stayed at the Cosmo too with great rooms but view was better at the Cosmo.

Sorry to jump in but what’s a decent price for the Venetian?
Looking for a king suite and a two queen suite for 4 nights for next August. It’s obviously not available with all companies but could currently book for £1120. Any good?

Their own website goes from $150-$400 a night in July next year, cheapest nights Sun-Thurs. August prices should load soon. I was working on anything under $300 for strip view including tax and resort fees this year.
