Universal Seasonal Annual Pass...upgrade ?

If we buy the universal seasonal passes but then upgrade just one of those to the ‘preferred’ annual pass - would we all be able to benefit from discounts for food & drink within the parks !?

Is there a reason that you don't just buy one & one in the first instance? Look at Seasonal restrictions before committing: Blackout days etc, we have a Power & a Preferred with the Preferred getting us the discounts plus Free Parking.
