We always flew direct until last time we went where we decided we'd change in Atlanta to save a few pennies.
I can safely say it wasn't worth it, I found it really stressful getting across the airport and onto the next flight, but that could have been to do with DD being travel sick as we landed from the first flight. |

Why Thankyou, Mrs Munmum. It is imho worth looking at the advantages as well as the disadvantages of indirects... and also how to exploit them, rather than simply tolerate them in order to save a few Shekels.
It is also worth adding that I have a big preference for LHR over LGW (due to where I live). Most Atlanta and other non Orlando flights go out of LHR. Boston, SFO, LA, San Diego, Vancouver, Detroit, Chicago, Boston etc etc etc. Edited at 09:26 PM. |

We have done many indirects to make savings, but like CFG we try to use it to our advantage. We had some amazing days at Fort Myers when going travelling there via indirect for sub £400 in school hols.
In 2016 we did an indirect with Westjet, Gatwick to Orlando via Toronto, We made our layover 4 days and did Niagara, lunch up the CN Tower, a boat trip over Ontario - it was amazing, and the flights were again sub £450. |
