Stu what was the Cumberland Hotel like?

The cumberland House Hotel was OK, it is only about a mile or so from South Terminal and is easy to find.
It cost us £104 for a Family Room B&B and two weeks parking.

The room was on-suite had a double bed and two singles. for a one night stay it was great, very clean and the staff were friendly.

Car Parking is in the hotel car park, which is quite small and the cars are backed up against each other, they move your car to accommodate others whilst your away but only within the confines of the car park and it is moved, if required, prior to your return so that it isn't blocked by other cars (makes for a quick exit)

If you want secure parking then I would go somewhere else, but I felt OK leaving my car here.

They will pre book a taxi for you which is £4 from hotel to Terminal.

We found the Cumberland Hotel very good and very reasonable. There's also a very nice pub with a delightful restaurant and good food that is children friendly literally three minutes walk down the road. We've already recommended them before, and I don't think anyone has had any problems. We pre-booked a taxi with them and it was only about £5 to the airport.
