Oh are there skyliner rumours for SSR? That would change my feelings a bit. Ive been a bit disillusioned but would welcome that very much!

When we (first) bought direct and went through the vast amounts of paperwork with the contracts guy, literally the thing he stressed most was the possibility of the skyliner being expanded to SSR (he owned there too &#128521. Given how popular (with some) the skyliner is with some guests, yes I could absolutely see it expanding, but with cold economic winds blowing not sure it will be anytime soon.

The original SSR contracts way back in the early 2000’s had information and outline plans on them for a Monorail extension.

With the construction of the garages completed and the fact that Disney Springs is saturated with people I very much doubt a Skyliner extension will happen as it’s basically not needed.

Tom could well be on the money, but Marni is saying it may happen.

Personally I hope so. It may see dues bump up a bit (but I assume busses cut down so savings) but we like Skyliner we find it one of Disneys better decisions over the last few years.

Are the Dvc points still attracting same prices or are people lowering them to get people in

AKV needs a Skyliner station of some sort. Buses alone is pretty naff

I would say have stops at the All Stars too but not sure if they would want to invest over there.

Renting out? The prices are holding up and rising, every time I've gone to sell points I've had more interest than I could deliver.

David's are now $23 a point, of which they pass $18 onto the owner. I no longer rent out via David's due to their policy which puts too much risk on owners.

My previous direct rate was £14 a point (based on $19 @ $1.35).

With the exchange rate and the increased prices David is charging I'll be looking at £17 a point for 2023/4 (based on $21.50 at $1.26)

Then surely people should keep the Dvc even if they want to go as it seems a good return on your investment whilst demand is there

Agree. A far better return than any financial institution.

Quite a few reasons I can think of to sell:

Lovely sum of cash right now which could buy other things
Change in circumstances
Unaware / can’t be bothered to rent
No intention of returning to WDW in the future and perceived / actual ongoing cost of annual dues is an irritant / unwelcome
If the purchase was an emotional one the selling may also be

I read somewhere that the average length of DVC membership is seven years, if I was thinking of selling over the next few years and I had a 2042 contract I’d be definitely thinking carefully about it. At the current exchange rate it would be a very nice amount, and there are only 20 years of value left on those contracts (as things stand).
