University class of 2022

Hi just thought I would see how everyone was getting on. My DS has heard back from the two places he applied to and has auditions for both ( he wants to study music) which he is pleased with. Has anyone else heard/ got offers?

My DD has 4/5 offers to study Economics & is going to attend some offer days in February/March to decide on her 2 final choices.

I’m a bit concerned that the grades they require are quite high ranging from A*AA to AAB. She is getting Bs in mocks.

My DS has had offers from all his 5 university choices (joint degree French and Business at Leeds, Sheffield, Birmingham, UCL, Southampton). I think the two favourites are Sheffield followed by Leeds for him. I believe he signed up for an applicants day in Sheffield.

When and how do they confirm firm choices - anyone who knows?

We’ve been told they expect students to go up a grade from their mocks. I guess based on the fact that they still have a few months til their A levels

Son has had 2/5 back for fine art .Loughborough and Aberystwyth.He’s waiting on UWE which is his firm choice

My DS applied for Modern Languages and Economics (Spanish and Japanese). He’s had offers from Reading, Cardiff, Sheffield and Royal Holloway. Just waiting on Warwick which is his first choice. Reading have offered lower grades if he makes them his first choice. Warwick is preferred then Reading so just keeping everything crossed at the moment 🤞
His college are doing 3 lots of formal mocks between now and end of April which they’ve never done before and obviously is down to Covid but it’s a lot of pressure over the next few months 😞

Once they have heard from all their universities they then make their choices on UCAS. They need to wait til they’ve heard from all though

DD also applied for music has 2 offers, one interview/audition at the end of the month (now online instead of in person) and waiting to hear from 2 others. Good luck

Good luck too - where has she applied? My DS has auditions at LIPA and ACM in Guildford

Daughter has heard from all of hers- Cardiff, Bath, Southampton, Aberystwyth and Bristol- to do French. Cardiff is preferred and firm choice as thats home - they want AAB which she surpassed in her mocks before Christmas. Can't quite believe she will be going to uni this year.
