I have applied today - long process.

I am expecting it to take ages as I had 6 jobs during the time period - who is going to check all that.

My UK check came through very quickly less than 6 hours for approval. - they quoted 10 days.

It’s not difficult, but can be a bit time-consuming to fill out the form, depending on your answers.

You’ll need ID documents (passport and driving licence, if you have one), employment history and travel history over the last 5 years (countries visited, excluding US, Canada and Mexico).

Just a note on taking your daughter. Like ESTA, GE is attached to the individual, if you want to use it when travelling with her (or anyone else), she will have to enrol in GE too. You can’t take her through the GE line with you otherwise, you’d have to use regular immigration to keep her with you.

No problem for children to join GE, and obviously things like employment history are a lot quicker, but you still have to go through the full process and pay the fees for each applicant.

The U.K. check must be automated, I applied on Boxing Day and it came back in 3 hours.

she's American citizen so normally she go to the shorter line.. but I guess its still sept from the GE line.. I don't mind applying GE for her too.. but I guess I would have to apply it using her American passport which I think it would make the process a bit difficult I guess? she's also due to renew her passport soon.. is the GE attach to passport at all?

She would apply as a US citizen with her US passport. If the passport renewal is due soon I would do passport first then GE. You can update passport details though at the interview if you do it the other way around.
