Universal Halloween Horror Tickets

I am travelling to universal in September for a week and want to do the HHN and looking at ticket options. We are staying on site at Portofino Bay for the duration but not sure what would be the best option. Being so close i like the idea of being able to go in multiple nights, but then i assume IOA will still be open in the evening?

I know at the min they only have the single night tickets available to buy but hoping for the 2nd night free offer.
However the options are as follows:

1 night and express pass
2 night ticket (if become available)
RIP Tour for the one night

Don’t know about the 1 night free offer. Yes ioa will still be open but not that late from what I’ve heard.

We are doing October and going to hhn 3 nights so holding out for a multi night ticket.

Our thoughts were multi night with express or rip. I think we are going to stick with the express, all the feedback I got was one of the other would be good.

Also booked the 3 house daytime tour which looked fab.

I'd be surprised if they did a 2nd night free, I don't think that is a regular offer and was probably more due to the pandemic and getting people to come back, the last time that was offered appears to be in 2020, and was only available if purchased before 3rd June.

My guess is that they don't need to offer it, especially as there seems to be a fair amount of people that have booked tickets early.

Out of the three options you have listed the RIP tour would be best, but it is also the most expensive option.

We are there for opening weekend and have never done HHN before so just went with the RIP tour as that will be a busy weekend. If multi night or one night free tickets come up will probably get them to go back in for the atmosphere or what we feel we missed but will see what additional cost is!

We have also booked the three house unmasked daytime tour as well, they come highly recommended, thought about the six house one but felt that might be a bit too much!

Thanks for the input everyone - does anyone know roughly how long the RIP tour lasts?

I get it guarantees all the houses but is there time to enjoy atmosphere/rides without the tour?

The event itself officially starts at 6.30pm and normally ends at 1am, so there should be time for you to do stuff afterwards depending how late you plan to spend. I know the RIP starts earlier than 6.30pm as you have food included before hand, not sure if that is included in the 4.5 hours, probably not.

A mate of mine in the US who works in the industry has said that Universal is "changing HHN ticket options" this year, hinting that the Frequent Fear Pass might be dropped.

Anyone else heard similar?
