Covid Test tomorrow; Should I do an LFT at home?

Its our covid tests in the morning.
Im so excited about the holiday, as we all are, but the edge is just taken off slightly in case of the dreaded positive tomorrow.
Would you do a test tonight?

(DD2 is terrified of the test and wont be having one at home)
Cheers

Our test is next Weds and we have started testing every couple of days. Would prefer to know in advance than find out on the call. Trying not to get too excited about going just in case! 😬

Yes. We did them the night before and the morning of for reassurance. I was totally relaxed when we did our proper ones because I had literally just done one that was negative.

We are going for our tests on Friday,so nervous! I’ve been testing every day for two weeks as I’ve had a terrible cold and kept worrying that it was Covid. We will test Thursday evening and Friday morning before leaving for the airport to do our tests!I so hope that testing isn’t still in for our August holiday-can’t cope with the stress!

Same boat as you, we have ours tomorrow and my daughter who is 5 is terrified 😞 thankfully done a few in the past few days to help her get used to it. Absolute pain in the butt all this.

Snap! We fly tomorrow - test this morning which has truly taken a lot of the excitement away from the prepping for what should be a monumental trip!
It really is just the “what if…..” worry - whilst we’ve both taken LFT’s at home over the past few days and not gone anywhere, what if we get a false positive! Complete nonsense if you ask me….

I imagine most of us who have travelled over recent months took a test ahead of the all-important one.

If nothing else, if helps you mentally prepare. If you test positive ahead of the key test, then you can ready yourself - it won't be such a monumental shock and disappointment when you do it for real.

That's not to say that if you test negative the day before you will also test negative when you take the supervised test, but you will have a very good chance. Sadly I read in another group of a family who all tested negative ahead of time, only for one of them to return a positive result when they subsequently took the test that mattered.

We're off on a cruise on Saturday so are testing on Friday morning but won't test ourselves beforehand as it could change!
