A relaxed military style trip. May 2022. Day 1. Premium outlets, Icon Park

Wednesday 11th May.

Index

Woke at 6.30, pretty good for the first day.
I unpacked properly. Had an online chat to my bank, they said I could authorise the payment and it wasn’t going out twice, they just need to know I agreed to it, so I did that by the text they sent the previous night. All good for shopping now.
It was still quite early and the premium outlets open at 11am on weekdays. Wanted to get out in the sun though so walked along I drive. We passed Icon park and Freefall ride. Lots of tributes to Tyre after the accident. I didn't want to take photos but it was heart breaking to see.
Both that and sling shot were closed off. I don’t know if they will ever open again.
We walked to surf side inn and then decided to get the I trolley from there.
We purchased 2 week passes for us before we came.
It took a while, the trolleys have really gone downhill this year and although I would still get a pass next time, I wouldn’t rely on them.
First stop is always Taco Bell opposite the outlets.

You order on the machine but can pay cash at the till.
It isn’t the most organised in there but the wraps were so good. We shared a large refillable drink which we filled up and took to the outlets.
First stop was bath and body works for me. I love it here but I never really know what to buy.
In the end I got some 342 miniatures as I use them quite a bit in hand luggage.

The glitter ones are for me and dd. Total $36.21.
We had a mooch, the vans shop had some great offers, 3 tops for $30. I texted dd and asked if her bf would like any.
We looked in quite a few shops and then dd replied he would like one of the tops. We went back and I brought 3, one was $15 and put two away for Xmas.

Total $31.95
We left the outlets and went across the road to more shops, I find these ones have the better deals.
Calvin Kline had 70% off the whole store. Matt was in his element.

Total $60.35
Levi’s next, all sale items were 342 then another 10% off just for giving them your email.

Total $44.06
Last shop was under amour, this had the best deals, 50% off all clothes and lots of golf clothes for Matt. I’ll do his under amour haul at the end of the trip as didn’t take photos until I started to pack.
We were feeling shopped out now, plus Everton were playing.
Anyone that follows football and probably their partners will know that Everton were fighting to keep up. Matt is a fan and we had planned to watch all the games.
We passed a sports bar called Walk Ons along I drive so took the trolley there.
Ordered a drink and asked to have the game on, I think it was due on at 2.45 but they couldn’t show it. The staff were really friendly, we said we would come back for the other games. We paid for our drinks

Can’t remember how much.
We then tried the Alehouse. They also didn't have which was a little annoying as it was happy hour 3-5 at walk ons.
Anyway, we watched whatever match was on, well Matt did, I connected to the WiFi.
Matt was keeping updated on his phone, I believe it was a draw.
The tables were open today and we had a lovely server. She kept saying I got you which I thought was cute and something I’m going to say to my guests at work. 🤣
I had strawberry lemonade followed by rum punch and Matt had beers.

Cost was about $23
Bahama breeze is a little further up and happy hour is between 4-6 weekdays which is selected drinks and half price appetisers. Matt ordered a beer and a cocktail, he doesn’t drink cocktails but wanted a frozen one. I had a bahama mama and Matt an ultimate pina colada.

He did actually nearly finish this and ordered another along with one for myself. You get a little i pad and can order drinks yourself.
Matt couldn’t finish his second one so I ended up with one and a half. I was so full.
It was about $30.
We went back to the hotel, dropped our shopping off and back out again.
I think we were planning to eat at chillis but we missed a trolley and walked to Icon Park instead.
I forgot to take my phone off charge so no photos from tonight.
We had a drink at tin roof, a bar with live music. This was $12 for a rum and Diet Coke plus a beer.
We paid $15 and the server just said have a good night and didn’t even attempt to bring the change.
We would have tipped but I was fuming she just assumed.
Matt said to leave it.
We sat opposite a little stall, the person looking after it had disappeared. One man took a light up balloon for his child, he was looking to pay but couldn’t see anyone so walked off with the balloon.
We were getting hungry so went over to the Buffalo Wild Wings.
Here, our server was really sweet but a little dizzy. We ordered a frozen margarita, so strong and a beer plus ultimate nachos. She brought our drinks and asked if we wanted to order food, erm, we just have 🤣
We were still hungry so ordered large wedges and these pretzel knots which were not great.
Matt paid with card, we asked to pay by chip and pin, the girl had never heard of this. In the end the card just went in and out of the machine with no issues. We tipped in cash.
Total was $37.67

We are usually pretty good at sleeping until a half normal time. Wasn’t expecting to do so well at the outlets.
