I want to go now!

insurance whilst awaiting consultant appointment
Son is awaiting ENT consultant appointment, had blood tests by GP nothing untoward but feels he should be seen by specialist. Will be several months before appointment.
What insurance company covers for undiagnosed conditions (if there is something to be diagnosed) |

They'll all be cautious and await the outcome. I mentioned on my initial application that I was due to see a consultant about an intestinal problem. The insurance company gave me a quote 'subject to the findings'. If the findings were negative, the figure would stand, if not, they'd reassess. As it was, nothing was found before I went to Florida but I was concerned about the outcome.
As far as ENT problems are concerned, would insurance companies be worried about complications when flying? I've had problems with my right ear for nearly 70 years now and had a mastoid operation about 60 years ago. The only side effect I find is that my hearing becomes rather blurred after a long flight for a couple of hours, that's all. I don't suffer any pain. Good luck with your quest for insurance. Shop around until you find an understanding company who is willing to listen to you and not bump up their rates at the drop of a hat. Incidentally, my ear problem has never attracted any extra insurance loading. |

You will be very lucky to find an insurance company that provides you with a policy pending consultation and diagnosis. It's all about risk: the insurers have to know full details of what they are covering. And remember, it's not just about whether a condition may need treatment while on holiday. There is the cancellation factor, too, so insurers need to balance whether a policyholder could be told by a doctor that either they mustn't travel, or that they may need continuing medical attention during the time they had planned to be away.

You will be lucky to find insurance . Almost every company requires a condition to have a formal diagnosis before they will insure it .
We had a similar issue with my husband his GP was almost certain he had psoriatic arthritis but because he was still undergoing tests the no insurance co would cover him for that condition . Fortunately for us the risks were minimal it was unlikely to hamper his holiday or land him in hospital so we went with that condition not insured . |
