Vouchers instead of tickets

I have been looking at the Thomsons deal for Disney and Universal tickets this summer. they supply vouchers not actual tickets

Can someone give me some idea how much time I will need to allow to collect the actual tickets etc before getting into the park?

We are arriving to Orlando late July, our first full day will be a Saturday (with the early start!)
I am not sure but we are likely to visit Animal Kingdom that first day, but can we exchange the vouchers beforehand or does it have to be at the parks?

You can change vouchers at DS. If you have magic bands and an MDE account and can link your vouchers you don't even need to get tickets unless you want to.

Thanks for that... Whereabouts do we go at DS? Is there a specific retail centre?
We won't have magic bands, as I assume they are only for people staying onsite and we are offsite in a villa
Do you know how it works at universal?

There's a Guest Relations area in the new Town Center at DS.

You could link your tickets to your MDE, then buy magic bands at the Disney store in MCO or when you visit one of the parks. This would mean you wouldn't have to pick up the tickets.

Universal you exchange them at guest services at the entrance to the park, really quick took us 5 mins last August.

Can we get magic bands in the UK or just when we arrive? We are flying into Tampa!
I originally thought magic bands were only for onsite guests

That sounds straight forward.. we are staying in one of the hotels for the night to make use of the fast pass, so we will check in then head straight over to the park
