Sorry to Hijack the thread, but with the DVC membership don't we get 10 or 20% off in table service restaurants - which will further cut down the costs (as MrTomorrow says and not needing deserts too).. that way making the DDP even less attractive?

If having the discount can you still charge to your room though? does anyone know?

You are right about discounts in some places albeit some are lunch only. If you pop onto the DVC website there is a load of info on there. A lot of us find the Tables in Wonderland card excellent. 20% off food and bar bills and 18% tip automatically added. Pays for itself in 7 days I find.
Well worth the $150 cost.

You can still charge to your room as well with either method.

$67.33 versus £42... saving you a whopping...oh wait it in fact costs you £13/person extra as it's in $.
TBH I'm actually surprised that the £ amount hasn't shot up!

So it's cheaper to book ddp in £'s? Can you do this as a DVC member?

Yes, it's cheaper to buy in £, but unfortunately as a DVC member you have to pay the US dollar price so with the poor exchange rate makes it very expensive. Non DVC bookings pay a UK flat rate of £41.99 for ddp.

i reckon UK DVCers should ask Disney to supply it at the UK price- wonder what they would say?

The same as if we asked to pay our dues in GBP, I imagine? I can't think of a single reason why they would do it.

We where on the phone to DVC yesterday asking if this is possible, a resounding no. This is during a sales call where I imagine the LAST thing they wanted to say was no to anything lol.

TBH I don't know how they are still managing to do it in £'s for £42! That's approx. $51 on today's rate & at that you don't have to try too hard to break even unfortunately definitely not the case at $67!
