Recommendation for selling DVC points/membership please
As above, I would be grateful to receive a recommendation for a broker to make this as painless as possible please?
Many thanks |

We initially bought through ResalesDVC and I've friends who have recently sold their points through them, without any problems.

I can only give a view ref buying. DVC Magic Resales were brilliant.
Worth contacting them.

Hi I am also looking to sell points. I have done the initial form filling with DVC Rental store and now they have said I will be subject to a 30% US tax if I go ahead unless I obtain a ITIN number which takes 4-6 weeks. Anybody know anything about this? How did you get on with Resales DVC? Cheers

It's 15% AFAIK, re-claimable if you don't make a profit on the sale. If you do show a profit then that's when you need a US Tax ID number and it gets complicated.

We are in the middle of buying a contract from an international seller. The title company have told us that the US tax authorities hold the buyer responsible for ensuring that the FIRPTA is paid and we therefore need to have a US Tax ID. They have put us in touch with a specialist who is sorting all this out for us. We had to scan copies of our passport and have a Skype interview for ID purposes. They will then complete all the paperwork and send it to us for signature. I assume that all the above applies to the seller also.
