We spent over 4 hours in the Clubhouse in December - we arrived around 8am for the 1pm flight - no problem at all

I think you will find that incorrect, I have travelled UC more flights than I can remember and there has never been a restriction. Once I finished work at 2pm and was in the LHR Clubhouse at 3pm for a 10:30 flight.

Lounge time restrictions more commonly apply when you're paying for lounge access in a third party lounge or sometimes when the airline is using a lounge operated by a third party.
I guess it's possible, but I'd be pretty surprised to hear that Virgin (or BA) imposed a time restriction on their passengers in the lounges they operate themselves such as the Clubhouses. They will often have connecting passengers with many hours between flights. Edited at 08:28 AM. |

Hi Ann... if you haven't done so ring VA Special Assistance on 01293 437650 and set up your requirements for your parents. If the procedure is the same as Man airport you'll find wheelchair/other assistance close to the check in desk. They'll take you all through security to the Clubhouse and arrange collection at a specific time. At the departure gate you'll be boarded first giving you plenty of time to settle into your UC seats. Ensure you also arrange the same for your return, asking if assistance will take you to the Delta Lounge at MCO before departure. Last May the Delta lounge made an announcement for boarding and a VA staff member was waiting to accompany us to the gate and straight onto the aircraft.
As there are only 14 seats on the LGW 747 there'll be none, to perhaps one or two, in the check in queue. As Steve said the Clubhouse will be excellent for breakfast and some pampering too! Have a smashing holiday one and all |

Hi Chris, thank you so much for all of your help, it's great to hear that you have had first hand experience of special assistance and that it works well. My parents will be very relieved 😊

You're very welcome Ann... remember to collect your Delta Lounge passes at MCO UC check-in, we return hand luggage only and almost forgot to go to the desk last May. The Delta Lounge is canny and we were very comfy, but it's most definitely not a Clubhouse, the food offerrings are minimal... soup and roll, cheese and biscuits, salad, biscuits and cake type of thing, we only drink water or soft drinks so I don't know if alcohol is complimentary, at a guess I'd say X amount is. They did have a very nice chicken mixed with mayo salad last May.
Directions to the Delta Lounge - leave the monorail, walk down the ramp, turn immediate left and take the elevator up to the lounge. |

I heard lots of bad things about the delta lounge at MCO, this is very different to our experience, it is peaceful and nice, felt like going back in time to colonial England to me, a virgin lady came to the clubhouse and escorted us to the gate and through check in, although this was a bit embarrassing as we passed by everyone waiting, felt like really special treatment, I would highly recommend going to the delta lounge on other side (food isn't as good as gatwick, just snacks, but the coffee is good)

Thank you, I really appreciate all of your wonderful advice. If you don't mind me asking how do you manage to travel with just hand luggage?
Can you please also tell me if you have ever sat in seats 6a and 6k? I have booked these for my parents as I thought that they would give them the best privacy?
