Does anything special happen on Independance day?

Hi, we will be in Orlando this year & realised we will be there for July 4th, was wandering if anything special usually happens anywhere on this date, like, shopping, eating, anything special for the day in the parks, was just a thought if anyone has been there at that time of the year, thanks guys x

Magic kingdom has different fireworks (they usually show them on 3rd too). Lots of shops have sales and offer extra 4th July discounts. I think some communities like Celebration have fireworks and maybe events on.

We've been in 4th a couple if times but avoid the parks as they get heaving. We watch the magic kingdom fireworks on 3rd. We go shopping on the 4th but one year we went to Discovery Cove as it has a limited capacity and was not too busy - a memorable and relaxing day.

Wow yes - Hostile aliens bring really large ships into our atmosphere and hover over loads of different landmarks...

Not gonna tell you what happens next as it might spoilt it.

Will Smith is great (as always) as is the older dude from Taxi and the guy from the fly. But Bill Pullman is rubbish as the pres - not very trump-ish...

enjoy the film

OP sorry - couldn't help myself.

Ive been twice and both around Indie Day - you find the parks are RAMMED with bloody Americans - sheesh, my holiday and THEY are all there... so we tend to avoid the parks/have a pool day on those days.

the fire works and pageantry is very patriotic and lots of military honoured on that day / weekend too.

As most of you know I'm English and teach in a High School here.

Questions I'm asked every year and my answers.
Do they have 4th of July in England? Yes, right after the 3rd and before the 5th.
What do they call it in England? Getting rid of the Americans Day!
Really? No it's called the 4th of July.

Hey PM I totally agree. Been once and was advised to go to Seaworld that day . Boy do they ( rightly) honour their military there. Honestly brought a lump to my throat The UK should do more for their military like that.

think we did shamu too on that day 2012.

yep as always all the military and their families allowed in for free.

Same with the raising of the flag, felt rude not to put hand on heart or salute or something. Then you twig they got independent from... us (ish).

At least we spell Honour correctly! Theatre, Colour...
