Our Christmas Present - Bistro de Paris
We were asked to wait a short while in the lobby so they could prepare our table, and once complete someone came and retrieved us.
When we arrived upstairs we looked around to see a total of 5 or 6 tables occupied. The décor very pleasant and the view’s of Spaceship Earth were very nice. Our server Paul introduced himself as he approached us at our table, and explained the menu plus wine list. After a short period of contemplation we had made up our mind on what we wanted to eat. Dawn choose the Consommé of Chicken and Beef in a flaky pastry shell followed by the Roasted pork tenderloin and I choose the Escargots and Frogs leg sampler with mushrooms followed by the Pheasant. We asked for a recommendation for red wine and Paul choose a bottle of Fixin Bouchard, at $74.00 a bottle a thought it way over priced but agreed as I like to try new things. The meal was excellent and the atmosphere was very relaxed and peaceful, the wine on the other hand although very nice I could not stop wondering how it was different to an £8.00 bottle from Tescos. After the meal we shared a Dessert sampler which was well presented and tasted very good. The total bill came to a total of $250.00 including tax and tip which was a bit pricey but we thought the meal was worth it (or so we thought). Feeling quite tipsy and full we headed of to the Villa and arrived by about 9.15pm. A short time later we headed off to bed. At 1.15am I awoke with violent stomach cramps and only just made it to the toilet. I was extremely ill and could never remember a time in my past where I had been sick so much. I finally made it back to bed by 4am At first I thought I must have food poisoning but to be fair I did not have a temperature so I just thought the food must have been too rich, but not being a medical person I didn’t really know. Tomorrow We will be having Tea at the California Grill at the Contemporary Resort, providing I am up to it.

Yes Claire, I wanted to see if I was missing something so I bought the wine only to find I must be missing my mind.

You were very adventurous to try the Frogs 'n' Snails Wine is so expensive at WDW isn't it? It really bumps up the bill (sorry check ) |

... I'd just got used to the cost of the meal (but not the wine, never the wine!) when I read on to see that for $250 you don't even get to keep it!
Sorry to laugh Bob... rotten end to an otherwise cracking day! More please! Mike |

Your obvious mistake is sharing these desserts. I never share my dessert, and I've never been ill in WDW Hope you are back to full fitness. Craig
