40th birthday treat..Disney Cruise - The Terminal!
Well, it was a big birthday and my choice was to do the Disney Cruise. We had the choice of he 3 or 4 night as the 7 nights were on the West coast for our time of travel.
So the 4-night cruise was booked, with the added bonus of a "double dip" into Castaway Cay. We took onboard what I read on the Dibb and set off early for Port Canaveral. The journey was easy and the signposting good. The first glimpses of the ship were so exciting. Can you tell she is excited? We were the 4th car to arrive at the port and were asked to go to a holding car park across the road as passengers will still getting off from the previous cruise. Little did I realise how reluctant we would be to get off at the end of our time. It was about 9.50 when we arrived and they anticipated they would let us park officially at about 10.15. We parked up and got out, cameras in hand, to cross the road and take our first shots of the ship. Well second, shots really, but the first ones were from the car as we were driving(I was driving so didn't take any!) We saw more cars arriving so went back to the car and within minutes were given the go ahead to drive through the check-in gate.Again we were the 4th car through. We dropped off our luggage with a lady porter and she commented on how little luggage we hadWe had one huge suitase between the 4 of us and one large holdall with all the shoes. I started to worry about not having packed the tuxedo and ballgown Ah well, if I was under-dressed and had to eat pizza on a sunbed for my dinner, then so be it. Next instalment- the terminal.
