The Keys seem to have hiked the price up this last year, Gulf Coast is coming out cheaper, we live the Keys so I don't want to be disappointed with the Gulf.

We honestly love the Gulf Coast. Have you thought about Siesta Key? A little further than St Pete's but not that far. The beach is beautiful and the main road through the village is lined with lots of cool little bars and restaurants, several of which play live music. I can recommend the Ringling Beach House for accommodation
