Florida expert but need help with DLP please!

I know Orlando like the back of my hand, but haven't been to DLP for over ten years.

What should I be planning? Do you need ADR's? Do I need to plan at all?

Do the hotel Disney shuttles run from MLV station or do we need to walk to the park to get them? Last time we went we stayed in the city so not sure how it works.

Going at Easter 15-19th April.

Thanks!

Yes I'd recommend booking restaurants.
Apart from a ride plan & your meals there is not much else to plan ahead for.
The Disney buses are right outside the station but the hotels are all really close & we always just walk. Max 15- 20 minute walk from furthest hotel.

You can book restaurants from 2 months prior to your arrival, and the phone number is on the sticky at the top of the forum.
It's very different to WDW - you don't get a booking number and you don't have to give a card number. You just turn up at the restaurant at the time you have booked and they have your name. Never had an issue, other than I forget where I have booked when, so I tend to pop to the hotel concierge and they will print you out a list of your bookings.

The Newport Bay is about 10-15 mins walk from MLV station, but you walk through the Disney Village (restaurants/shopping area) and around the side of the lake. It's a very pleasant walk and will help you to get your bearings for where things are.

It's worth noting that NBC is a HUGE hotel and sometimes the rooms can almost be a 15 min walk from the reception area, so I would recommend calling ahead (again - contact details are on the DLP website or on the stick at the top of the forum) and asking for a room near to reception - It will save you a lot of time.

If there is anything else you want to know - just ask, Happy to help!

Sorry to jump in on this thread! Do you just call the main Disney reservation number? And is it two months prior to your arrival date or two months prior to when you want the meal for? (We are planning to eat at Chef Remy's on our last night) If that makes sense! Thanks!

The number is
0033 1 60 30 40 50.

It's not an exact science in terms of the timeline, nor do many people (other than us clever Dibbers!) book in advance of arrival. I just call 2 months before arriving and have never had any problem booking restaurants for the whole stay.

Bear in mind the in-park restaurants may not open late. I have been when park closing time was 8pm but last sitting at Walt's and Remy was 3pm! So check before you book.

Thanks for this. Someone sent me the resteraunt opening hours from another Disney planning website and although Studios is shutting at 8pm, Remy's shuts at 5.30pm! I hope that info is correct although I'm sure when I phone they will keep me right?! Haha
