Flight & hotel
Hiya everyone!
after searching for 2 weeks and the price rapidly going up everyday we have booked flights! we was originally going saturday to saturday but the flight prices and times were unbelievable! We then decided to look friday to Saturday and managed to bag £550 flights! even though the times aren't the best it was so much cheaper and were going an extra night so can't complain! Been looking at hotels for days now and so many options going through our heads ill keep everyone up to date, we've narrowed it down - with the help of all of you - to: - rosen inn point orlando - homewood suites by universal -rosen inn by universal Thank you all for helping me out so much! hope everyones not as sad as me with Happily ever after gone last time i went was before the pandemic and will never see it again! |

The best place we have stayed at was the Embassy Suites near the Convention Center (well, it's actually near Pointe Orlando).
It's a suite so you get plenty of room, with a living area with a kitchenette plus a separate bedroom. You get wonderful free breakfasts and you used to get free drinks in the evening with nibbles. The atrium inside the building looks nice (or at least it did when we stayed). It's in a great location near to Pointe Orlando with a lot of restaurants nearby and not far from Icon park. We've also stayed at the Homewood Suites just across the road (not the one near Universal) and that was good too.

I’d go with rosen inn at pointe or rosen plaza, that area of idrive is much nicer and has lots within walking distance, the rosen inn international is a gret basic hotel but two reasons I’d never stay there is the horrendous traffic as the hotel is situated at the sand lake road intersection with idrive and it is a nightmare to get in and out of the property unless on foot, secondly anywhere north of the international is incredibly rundown(until you get to universals endless summer resorts ) and full of tattoo shops and tacky gift shops, please note however it’s still a perfectly safe area

I’ve not stayed at the Embassy Suites which is further north up IDrive and nearer Icon park. I think it’s not quite as good as the one nearer the convention center, although I’m sure it’s still nice.
The one we stayed at isn’t a budget hotel but it is nice.

I personally wouldn’t say the bit that’s north of Sand Lake is “incredibly rundown”. It’s not as nice as the bit south of Sand Lake - and I would recommend being nearer Pointe Orlando - but it’s not too rundown.
