easyJet Procedure at Airport
Hi all. Got our first flight since early 2020 and just wanted to ask what the deal is at the airport (Luton to be specific) these days?
We do have a hold case, so will need to check that in. Slightly complicating matters is the fact my husband and I will be arriving separately at the airport - I'll have the luggage, he'll have none (he has a work thing he can't get out of easily in the afternoon, so he is going straight from work and I'm getting the train). If he has no luggage, does he still need to go to the check in desk? Or can I check the suitcase in when I get there, then wait for him and go through security together? I've bought the required tests, and done everything else required for where we're going (Ibiza), it really is just about what happens at the airport and if I have to wait for him before doing everything. |

Can only help with gatwick (but should be the same). We traveled on 27th Aug. The check in luggage was at self service booths manned by one or two staff ( think self service tills at supermarkets). Any one in our party was able to check in the hold luggage on their ticket. He will be able to go straight through. His paperwork/phone will be checked at the gate.

That's great, thanks both. Will definitely make life easier, especially if he runs late from work!

I think EasyJet is self service at all airports.
Who ever has the bag on their ticket can check it in even if other members travelling are not present. You cannot check a bag in for someone who isn't there as its a CAA legal requirement to check the identity of the person whose bag it is. The airline could potentially lose its operating licence if they did.
