I'd imagine that they are having the same problems as UK Dealers - they just can't get stock. at some point it should normalise as they must be losing business- I read an article that people were hiring rental vans as it was way cheaper! We've looked for us for next year & I refuse to pay £1000 for a "Small" 4 door! I mentioned on a taxi thread that Lyft are doing rentals at approx $50/day & it appeared that the main players were around the $85/day mark!

Yes, they sold off a lot of their stock at the start of covid to help with cash flow, and now they’re struggling to buy more to satisfy the demand.

Try looking to pick up elsewhere other than the airport IE a taxi to hard rock universal or disney much cheaper or if you have a costco card they seem reasonable

Dont know where you got that price from. Their website quoted me more than that for just one week.

Are you looking for pickup not at MCO, this seems to be the main factor at the moment.

I've tried all sorts and can't find anything now under £1800 for fullsize. 2 weeks ago Sixt had fullsize at £1050 and a Jeep SUV for £1250. Gutted I didn't book then.

Avis does have a mystery 7 seater pickup from Hard Rock or Lowes royal for £1200 ish. It would need to be more of a saving to mess around with taxis/uber as collection couldn't be until next day. 2 young kids in tow...
