Spending money

Hey everyone ☺️

How much spending money do you budget for a 2 week trip? Do you allow a certain amount for food, parking and gifts?
We normally have the dining plan so don’t have to take into consideration this and therefore spends are a lot different.
Just wondered how everyone budgets for their holiday so they know how much to save ☺️

Thanks in advance 😁

We are hopefully staying offsite and budgeting for about $200 per day (2ad 2ch). I’ve worked out how much money we will need for parking and I’m hopefully going to have extra for that that i’m saving in an extra money tin. We are not massive shoppers so won’t be spending loads on clothes or souvenirs. My two boys will have about $500 each to spend.

I’m so happy to read a spending money thread.😅💗

This is such a subjective subject you are unlikely to get any consensus at all. To some £2000 might be unattainable whilst others will think nothing of spending £10000+.

$200 a day for us (2ad 2 teens) for food & drinks. Separate shopping budget $1000 and the teens will have their own spends for shopping. Every family is different but we find we can manage for food & drink comfortably on $200 a day 🙂

We spent a total of $2388 for everything food petrol and souvenirs in three weeks offsite in 2019. So $114 per day average.
When I budget though I always over estimate and it’s usually £150 per day etc. As we usually pay on the card then I don’t have to use up all of what I have budgeted. I usually just round it up too. Then have the funds to pay off the card.

I’m working out separate money for parking, character dining, other activities so the spending money can be just for food and shopping. We will eat breakfast in the condo most days and take snacks with us.

We have always done £200 a day for food and parking (2ad and 2ch - offsite) but next time our third child will be 7 so I’m planning to up it to £250-300 as that should be more comfortable.

If eating offsite you can check out the menus online for restaurants to get an idea of what your family might spend per meal. I did this before our first trip and found it very helpful!
