I don’t wanna pay at all.

I’m gonna be looking very closely at ride wait times over the next year and see what Genie + and Lightning Lane does to queues throughout the day.

Me and my family will likely be going it old school. Queuing for big hitters at rope drop, couple of Tier 2, back to the pool.

It’s good to hear that it’s not as simple as some might think now still.
I suspect it could be harder going forwards, as having to arrange in advance might mean they can have more specialist CMs trained in needs assessment rather than standard guest services. And I also think the uptake on DAS Advance will be very high, rather than waiting until on the day and stressing about it.

This is a good thing IMO, will still be no issue for those who genuinely need it. But hopefully it will stop people from trying it on just for the sake of skipping a few queues. Which (as any DAS user knows) you don't even skip the time of the queue, so you're still waiting the 60-90 minutes for a headliner anyway.

The advanced planning and assessment is great for DAS. It was really stressful for my OH that first day going to guest services so to have that sorted before you step on a plane and start your holiday is great.

We used DAS and Fastpass+ in combination, most of the time just utilising FP+ and only using DAS when we couldn't get a FP and the queue was too long for him to be able to cope with. We probably used it 4-5 times during our 12 night stay.

Sadly the new system will mean the pressure on the DAS system increase hugely, as people no longer have a free alternative.

One thing I hope they do, is create a special fireworks viewing area for DAS users (perhaps bookable). We couldn't stand and reserve a spot 45 minutes before shows for the same reason we couldn't stand in a line for 45 minutes so it meant we always had a rubbish view of the fireworks.

I asked a CM AT MK about the viewing area roper off in front of restaurant.. Tony's? I have a toileting issue so need to be near... They allowed me in that area and I was very grateful

Well its not as bad as it could have been. Its positive in the same way as a hefty kick in the nads is more positive than 2 hefty kicks in the nads.

Its disgusting is what it is - and dont give me any of that Disney is a business claptrap because Im not interested.

The Disney company of old and Walt himself always wanted to make money but they weren't into fleecing the pants off families at every opportunity. Shameful behaviour and as for the evil Bobs, well if anyone deserves those kicks in the nads……

I loved fastpass plus it was a useful tool. At least you could go to the park knowing you where going to ride 3 of the rides you wanted to do with a chance of picking up more free fast passes throughout the day. You weren’t planning every second of your park days at 60 days out like some people who dislike planning make out you where giving yourself a head start and you still had plenty of opportunity to do things on the fly once you where at the park. I’ve been to Alton towers today I got there for park opening and by 3 o’clock we had done 2 rides we spent 2 hours queuing for smiler then a ridiculous 3 hours in the queue for Rita is this the spontaneity that I keep hearing about ? If it is give me fastpass plus any day. By 7 o’clock we had done 5 rides and a quick food break nothing else out of 1 ride straight in the queue for the next one. I’d have done 5 rides before 12 o’clock using fastpass plus and a little planning.

Well unless I’ve misunderstood it, then I’m actually ok with it, but then I’m not a typical DIBNr as we only go every 10 years or so and the uptick in forward planning was putting me off going again. At the same time I like the idea of knowing we’ll almost definitely get on all the big rides if we don’t mind paying a bit extra. Besides, our usual approach would be hit all the big rides early on the holiday then a relaxed approach thereafter, just dipping into the parks, perhaps getting on big rides at end of day etc. So presumably we could just pay the extra in those early few days IF the queues were really bad? All good with me.

That said, I understand for the big planners on here it doesn’t seem so good. But, even then, is it essential to have plus every day? You’d likely be outside of WDW on several days anyway?

I wouldn’t be outside of WDW on several days but we don’t know yet whether Genie + will be needed every day so I agree with you there. I’m not overly happy about paying for something I previously got free but at this stage I’ll just be glad to be there.

£33.50 a day, you're hardly being ripped off if you pay an additional $15 now and then.

Just for reference, FP tickets for Alton Towers cost from £30 a day to £105 PLUS park entry...

$15 BARGAIN by comparison!
Or looking from another angle. £167.50 every day for a family of 5 PLUS parking, Genie +, food (now it’s not included)😳😳

Its an option, not a must have, you don't have to use it and IMO its miles better than booking FP's 60 days out it gives you the option there and then based on where you are in the park at any given moment.

You've lost a couple free FP's which was a naff system anyway!
We haven’t just lost a “couple of free FP’s” per day. That’s a fact - could often be up to 7 or 8 per day, which made your day a lot easier. Didn’t think it was a naff system, but that’s my opinion.
