Heathrow airport hotels - no car
Flight next August, family of 4 (inc 2 teens).
We are flying out of Heathrow and back into Gatwick. Our plan is to stay at Heathrow (flight at 1.30pm the following day), checking in to the hotel and dropping off bags before one of us drives to Gatwick to park and get National Express back. We will therefore not have the car the day of our flight. What hotels would you recommend? I have looked at Premier Inn (our usual choice) but it's not clear how you can get to the airport if you don't have a car. |

Hoppa bus, regular TFL bus or jump in a taxi/Uber. You definitely won't be short of options.

Can recommend the Hilton Garden Inn at T2/3 - fabulous roof top bar (with prices to match unfortunately) - fantastic views from some rooms if you know what room number to choose
Particularly liked the Gin Basil Smash in the Runway Bar but ridiculous prices so only had one - honest Edited at 12:09 AM. |

The hotels physically attached to the terminals tend to be expensive so if you want to keep to the less expensive Premier rates , the PI’s at Heathrow are fine. The Hoppa buses serve all the hotels but with four of you Uber may be a better option .
With teens you might want to consider the Bath Road PI as the Heathrow Bowl is walking distance , has the usual diner and bar as well as bowling lanes if you want something to do the night before you fly. |

With a larger party, I would avoid the Hoppa buses as I don’t like paying money that I don’t have to and they are by no means cheap by my measure. £5.50pp each way plus 50p for children, if eligible?
The red buses will hopefully be up and running their free service along Bath Road from the transportation centre soon enough. Prices are very much better along there than at the terminals. It would be unusual to pay more than £45 for a family room at the very good Bath Road Premier Inn… plus you then can get their excellent meal deal. Edited at 07:08 AM. |

That plus a sub £45 family room, so a total of sub £57 sounds better than can generally be achieved at an ‘In terminal’ Hotel.

We stay at the PI attached to terminal 4 and use the free train to get to other terminals. Always reasonably priced.
