You can of course get unlucky, but we have never had bad weather so to speak in 20 years of holidaying there in winter. I remember a few where it was boiling all week and not a cloud. We’ve had a few occasions of a day of light showers, or suddenly it will get a bit blustery but generally it’s pretty good.

We are also going Xmas if Florida is off.

We would have considered Dubai but prices have gone crazy currently. Would cost twice what a 5 star all inclusive in Canaries would cost us for a week.
Hi, yes we too have been looking at Dubai and the Maldives but the prices are 😲🙈

We always stay in Costa Adeje, south of the island, and near Fanabe beach. My parents had a property there for years so once they had that we always stayed there, before then we always stayed in Las Americas, but I was young and drunk for most of those holidays and don't really like it now!

I'm seriously considering Mauritius for a week, despite the 11 hour flight. It looks amazing. I'm going to wait and book a few weeks before we go though as so much can change between now and then.

Ahhhhh... now there's a thought 👍 I hadn't thought of Mauritius but I'm going to look into it too, have you seen any good deals?

I feel like I’ve commented on these general trip planning threads a lot recently 😂 but I also commented on nursetina’s Mauritius thread the other day so if you seek that out there’s some photos and ideas of areas etc!

Emirates are coming out with good prices but they don't do direct flights. BA do direct flights from Gatwick so will probably book with them. I'm looking at either westin turtle Bay on half board, or possibly Ambre all inclusive. I need to wait until BA sale is finished as getting sale prices when searching and won't be booking yet so not the true price I will pay. I am swaying towards AI as apparently drinks are pretty expensive. Emirates have got Raddison blu Azuri on AI at £1305 each so that could persuade me to go indirect as not on BA. So may lovely places I'm sure there will be something to suit once I decide to book.

Can highly recommend Fuerteventura on December. We went for Christmas 2019 and absolutely loved it - were still by the pool on Christmas Day at 5pm! Also walked along beach on 25th, so warm and daughter was paddling not cold at all. Roll on 2023 when we shall be returning for the same 😊👌
