Alton Towers Height Wristband

We are thinking of doing Alton Towers with our very tall almost 9 year old.

He loves thrill rides and has Velocicoaster and Hulk on his bucket list when we go to Florida.

My question is in the evening without shoes he was 139cm. In the morning with shoes he was 142.5cm.

Do they still do the wristbands there does anyone know so that he doesn't keep getting asked throughout the day to stand against the sticks for his height measurement. I previously have found them inconsistent depending on type of ground he is stood on etc.

Yes they do still do the wristbands. However if the staff member does check and they are under the height (even with a wristband) they will be turned away.

It’s kind of like in a shop when they ask for ID when buying alcohol. Even if you are clearly 50, once they have asked that’s it, you have to show ID.

Once they know you are too short, wristband or not, that’s it! I hope that makes some kind of sense.

Best option is to do the 1.4m rides that you really want at the start of the day, since we genuinely do all shrink as the day goes on you are reducing the risk of not hitting that height mark!

The wrist bands are pretty useless as they still check their height before they board the ride.
Like above I’d try to do all the big rides first thing just incase.

They say you are taller in the mornings. When my daughter was just 1.2m tall in the morning she was tall enough for thirteen but not for Wickerman in the afternoon.
