Thank you to all that have commented on various days and here on the last day. I am glad it brought back as many memories for some of you as it did for me writing it. It was the days of the parks being empty at certain points in the year and you could go to Florida with a care free attitude of where you were going and what you wanted to do. Sadly those days have gone and as Disney and Universal continue to build more and more hotels, it will only get worse.

Our first trip was in 1993 and it was a truly carefree holiday. Didn't have to plan and just turned up and rode what we wanted when we wanted. Returned in 95, 97, 98 and 99 and I believe we had the best years of Florida those years.
Now we do very little parks (mind you we are now both in our 60's!) but enjoy the rest of what Florida has to offer.

Thank you for sharing your trip report, thoroughly enjoyed reading it all. Certainly brought back lot's of memories , things I had forgotten about. Our first visit was in 1988 with our 2 daughters, an 8 year old and other 8 months. Parks were so quiet as was the i4 in comparison to the current day. Just lovely to look back and remember things as they were then.

Thank you Jeanette. I wrote this in one of the lockdowns as I was bored of staying in the house! My memory isn't what it was and it was a real task to pull all this together.

At this point in time, we havent been to Florida now for nearly 9 years and to be honest, with all the changes and increasing costs, I can't see us going back. Coupled with that my children are adults now and we are much older and want a much slower paced holiday. For the cost of a Florida holiday now, I can have 3 or 4 holidays a year elsewhere.

Somebody mentioned it on the thread, I think we saw the best of Florida in the early 1990's. It really was a carefree holiday where, in September when we went, the parks were virtually empty and every ride and attraction was a walk on. You could pick and choose what you wanted to do on the day. I think a holiday to Florida now would completely wind me up with the need to regiment your days, book rides, pay extra to guarentee entry onto rides, etc. - I enjoyed all my trips there but it has probably come to an end.
