We did that the first time to the Keys. Early start to say the least then drove straight to Key West and visited the Southernmost point and wandered the town centre had lunch. Drove back up and went to Robbie’s Marina to feed the tarpon then to the Holiday Inn Key Largo to see the African Queen in the dock. Finally drove all the way to Orlando via Yeehaw Junction toll road. An extremely long day, DD was 14 and coped well with the long drive. We have since returned to the Keys a few times to spend more time and explore properly but it did give us a taste and the wish to go back.
