Halloween Horror Nights

We have got 3 days at universal next September - staying onsite

Both of us are not horror people - so would avoid the mazes etc but intrested in doing the rides in the dark

Do people jump at you as your walk around too?

Yes but apparently if you stay on the sidewalks they usually leave you alone.

First rule is never run. Do that and you’ll be a magnet for every scare actor around.

There are several ‘scare zones’ dotted around the park. These will be themed and are highlighted on the map. The actors will chase you if you run, but tend to leave the people on the sidewalks alone.
I wholeheartedly recommend it. It’s a great experience!

You can, with planning and a bit of effort, avoid most of the scare zones. But I’d suggest sitting for a few minutes on a bench just outside them and watch. It’s a good laugh and allows you to plan your own way through.

There should be safe zones but just going to pick up on the "rides in the dark"... there's only one that really makes any difference - Rip Ride Rocket, it's the only external one & it's pretty well lit up TBH! Now if you are looking to do rides in the dark then a trip to Howl O Scream would be in order.

You might just want to stick to islands of adventure. Hulk and Doom are fantastic in the dark!

HHN isn’t on every night. This year it’s not on on a Monday or Tuesday. I can’t wait for my first hhn next year but it’s a lot of money to spend if you’re not that fussed by it.

You can purchase a lanyard I believe that lights up and the scare actors leave you alone
