Chicago help please
I’ve booked to take my partner to Chicago for 5 days in Feb for his 40th birthday. Has anyone been and got any tips, restaurant’s to try or must do’s?
We have tickets for a Blackhawks game as we both like hockey and he supports Blackhawks. We are looking to do some of the normal tourist things however I would also like something different. When we went to NY we had a Big Apple Greeter and we loved the more authentic sites so I was hoping to see something less touristy. Any and all ideas welcomed. Thanks in advance

Chicago deep dish pizza! We liked Giordano’s and Lou Malnati’s. Go hungry if you want to it though, as it’s more like a very cheesy pie than a pizza.
Millennium Park is really good, especially ‘The Bean’.

Yes, it will likely be very, very cold.So pack accordingly and have lots of warn clothes. It was -10 celsius and snowing when we were there in February.
Second City and Zanies are great comedy options. Cindy's Rooftop has great views and a nice menu. There's a John Hughes film locations tour and look here to see if they have options for Chicago. We've used this site for other cities. They wouldn't be free but in Feb in Chicago a free walking tour wouldn't be very comfortable. - toursbylocals We also enjoyed the boat trip down the river - wendellaboats/schedule-tickets/ |

Thank you all so much. Loads of ideas, thanks.
I know it’s going to be cold so I’ve got thermals and boots looked out already. When we were last in NYC (a few years ago)we had hoped for snow as we booked for November and it was warm. So we booked Chicago in Feb to guarantee the colder weather.
