Hi all…. Should add we had a much better day on Saturday at Legoland.

Friday was just manic. The crowds / people and the staff were not great Friday.

Crowds slightly better Saturday, people still strange and staff / service still generally poor. With exception of most in the hotels.

DS really enjoyed it which is the main thing. Had a great time in the Legoland hotel with mini disco and entertainment.

Recommend Tournament Tavern in the Castle hotel for dinner!

Park is ok and with exception of Flight of the Sky Lion, everything else seems like standard fair ground rides to celebrate the world of Lego….. Ninjago ride quite fun too.

If you like theme parks, also try Efteling in Holland, and Europapark.
Efteling is beautifully themed and has a really nice selection of rides.

I tend to go more for the atmosphere and theming than for the fast rides, so that means I tend to be disappointed in UK theme parks, but that's just my preference. Anyone remember one called The American Adventure? It was over Derby way somewhere, and we were obsessed with it for a few years as it was our little bit of the US between trips, or so we thought anyway. Sadly, it closed down and ended up abandoned and in ruins as no-one wanted it. I think the land has been cleared now.

For my sister's 40th I took her to Edinburgh for a weekend, and we visited a whisky distillery tour. It was brilliant, but in there was a ride that took you through various scenes of whisky making, riding in little cars past little mannikins - DS and I sang, "It's a small world" all the way round, to the amusement of the other riders!
