Lion King Show and others

Hi, never done any shows in DLP before and ive just seen the Lion King on the app saying reserve seating.

Is this a paid for show or is it just paid to reserve certain seats?
Also, will it be open in December? or replaced with something christmassy?

Is there normally a Christmas show? Nothings showing on the app

It is a free show. It isn’t always on and it is hugely popular. We saw it in 2019 and it is amazing. Nothing like any other version, more like a West End style show (but completely different from the stage version too).

Queues stretched back for several hours. We bought the Lion King Festival package last time which got you 2 days of special things, including reserved seats at the show.

This time they are doing the same as Premier Access for rides - ie if you want to skip the queue yoi can pay to reserve seats.

They do also have some free reserved seats for people with a Mastercard. But you have to go to City Hall right at the beginning of EMT to book them. We have been third in the queue and they were gone.

I was adamant that I wouldn't pay for rides etc, but I have paid for this just for the guaranteed seats - who knows, we may have got in easily with no problem but I'd rather know we won't queue for ages in the cold.

We did it for the opposite reason in Sep 2019, the heat was punishing!

I now have osteo-arthritis, so we might pay for it just to avoid the queue.

Yes, anyone who has a Mastercard can (in theory) get priority seats for the show (and for Mickey and the Magician when it is on). But you have to go to City Hall first thing on the day to book it. We tried every day of our stay, and one day we were third in the queue - but still no joy. I don't think they keep many.

According to DLP Report on Twitter, there are 20 seats per show and you have to go to City Hall 2 hours before the show to try and reserve the mastercard seats.

Although I'm against paying for premier access on the rides, I could see myself considering paying to reserve the show seats, especially at a busy time like school holidays.

So can I this time. I now have osteo-arthritis and if it means not having to queue, I'm in.

If you have the correct documentation, you'll be entitled to the disability card, and be able to use that route. Mum gets it for her Rheumatoid arthritis. X

Only just been diagnosed, not serious enough for a blue badge or anything. Not sure I would qualify? I am perfectly capable of standing and walking (slowly) unless I am having a flare up. Wouldn’t want to take advantage.
