The grotto we called the grotty .

Sounds like I need to revisit SD soon

Aims recommended the Marriott to us a few years ago and we absolutely loved it. We had a balcony room overlooking Coronado island and it was just stunning. It was just in the perfect location and like Megaflyer said, the pool are is so lovely and tropical.
We are just looking at dates to revisit next year, I cannot wait.

Sorry for jumping on your thread OP. I'm also looking at the Marriott Marquis for next summer. I can't decide between there and Best Western Island Palms.
We are travelling with 2 teens but we would probably want 2 rooms which really bumps the price up.

Anyone, which would you choose with teens?

Thanks

I dont know about Best Westerns as not my hotels of choice but The Hyatt def has suites but more affordable would be embassy suites which is reasonable cheap and all rooms have a sitting room with a sofa bed (and they can provide a roll away if needed on top) and a separate bedroom . Small kitchenette and often 2 bathrooms for a one off charge per room - plus a free evening reception (booze and snacks) and great breakfast- i love the omelettes cooked to order etc (not a buffet) - have used them extensively for work conferences as they always deliver great bang or buck and would defiantly be my choice for a family.

Thank you, I’ll take a look. I tend to look at Marriotts due to having points but I don’t have enough to cover 2 rooms plus the resort fee & parking are pricey for the Marquis.

Thank you guys! Hotels.com are doing 20% cash back so I went with the Marriott!

It’s our first time and also haven’t been on holiday for years so splashing out! 😂
