On that Ear to Ear Magic vlog, they've just entered their Haunted Mansion LL at 9:37 and they seem to be saying the next one they can make is Buzz at 11:00.

That seems a long wait given the park seems to be relatively quiet.

Standby might be quiet, but Genie+ is probably 90% bloggers/vloggers testing the system. We'll probably have to wait a week or two for the reports to slow down to see what the true times are like.

I was going to joke about how many vloggers etc will be there today but even though there seems to be an army of them these days, it would still be a relatively small number when stacked up against an average theme park day crowd.

There's always the chance of first day teething problems too, I guess.

The thing is with reservations, they have an accurate forecast of how many people are going to be showing up. So they might be releasing passes as a percentage of that. Slower day = fewer passes available.

There's no logical reason for all passes are allocated when most of the rides are still only a 5-10 minute wait, unless they barely issued any of them to begin with.

I do wonder if the person who was selecting the next LL reservation looked properly. They were just entering Haunted Mansion so, being on the move, she may not have been fully focused.

And, unless the UI has changed fundamentally, my recollection is that you used to scroll down an alphabetic list of attractions to see what times were available for each, before making your selection.. I'm not sure must scrolling happened, and Buzz is towards the top of the alphabet, so may have been chosen despite other attractions having earlier times further down the list.

I'm guessing/speculating a bit here though...

They won’t know how many will buy the pass on any given day. They may be able to estimate. My worry with this is given the unlimited number of passes available we will see this- either long waits between next ride, long queues or both. Essentially ending up with more or less Fastpass was but being relieved of $15 (soon to go up) for the privilege.
