Oh no! I feel your pain

Me and DS were due to go a few weeks ago but had to cancel four days beforehand as DD tested positive. She wasn't even coming with us but it meant we couldn't sign the French declaration to say we hadn't been in contact with anyone with Covid. DS then tested positive a few days later so it was a good thing we didn't go in the end.

We have rescheduled to go in three weeks time - I guess now that DS has had it he shouldn't test positive before we go!

So sorry to hear this.

You may have dodged an awful journey though. There's an overhead power fault in the tunnel. Our train was at 11.50 and we're still sitting here nearly 6 hours later. Probably another 2-3 hours to go.

Dread to think what their backlog will be like tomorrow!

Hope your daughter is better soon and that you get your trip rescheduled 🙂

Thank you! Our train was at 11.50am and we boarded at 8.30pm. Had to book a hotel in Calais for the night in the end, it was too late to drive to our accommodation and we were too tired.

It wasn't so much the delay but the lack of communication and customer care. The terminal ran out of food early afternoon so there were families with young children basically trapped for hours with nothing to eat and no idea what was happening or when they would depart.

First and last time using Eurotunnel for me

Wow that’s terrible!
Have to say though we have used the Tunnel about 8 times and never had any issues.
We were on the 7:20am yesterday and it was fine and running smoothly, such a shame you had that issue as it’s such an easy way to travel (usually!, can’t imagine how stressful that was!

Thank you Just glad we had stopped at services earlier for food and water. With three laid back teenagers and our sense of humour, we were ok but for families with little ones and dogs, it was pretty bad.

I'm hoping we have a better experience going home!
