I always used to struggle taking tablets even The Pill which was always tiny. I used to have a biscuit, take a bite, chew it and when ready to swallow pop the tablet in. I think I have just grown out of it as don't have trouble now.

Well that's me pretty much. Unfortunately being older doesn't make it any easier, either you can do it or you can't.

I'm definitely taking all these tips on board - I feel like if I practice enough I should be able to get the hang of it.

Have a flavoured drink ready (if anything gets stuck it covers the taste!) have a drink to lubricate yourself then I lay the tablets behind my froon teeth & take another drink.

I only have to watch someone take tablets and I start feeling nauseous! As soon as I put them in my mouth, I start heaving, I can’t stand them.

Capsules aren’t too bad, but tablets I have to cut up because I can’t swallow them at all when they’re big, but then I can taste them and that makes me heave. It’s just horrible.

The only thing I can do is cut them up into small bits, take a swig of milk and hold that in my mouth, then shove a bit of a tablet in and then more milk and swallow!

My son practised with Tic Tacs and found it really helpful. He can take tablets now.

I’m in my 50’s and I’m another who can’t swallow tablets. I can manage very small ‘pill’ size ones but even those make my eyes water a bit, but anything bigger or capsules and I just can’t do it. I hadn’t realised that so many of us suffer with this though.

It is odd how we’re all different and I didn’t realise this was a problem for people; only cats & dogs 😂😂😂
I take 8-10 tablets a day (a mix of small, medium & large), put them all in together and take a sip of water; if one or two of the smaller ones don’t go down, I usually don’t drink any more water and just swallow again to get them down 😃

I’m the same, I have 14 tablets in the morning and just swallow them in one with a sip of coffee!

I was terrible as a kid, I remember the doctor telling me I needed to learn fast as I was too old for liquids!

I couldn’t swallow tablets until I was an adult and needed to. I did it by getting a big drink and just kept drinking until it went. I still need a few swallows sometimes but definitely gets better. My other tip would be distraction, if i think too much about it I struggle to swallow the tablet.

I can’t do the putting the tablet on the tongue and then getting a drink way. I have to take a mouthful of water, then squeeze the tablet in and swallow. Yet years ago I used to take tablets with no water. Even typing that now makes me feel sick

OH is terrible with tablets. He puts one on his tongue and then just keep drinking until it’s gone. Can get through a whole glass waiting.
