Thanks it was the gp but he's pretty useless & my stepdad doesn't want to waste his time! I'll suggest this to my stepdad though 😀

This ^^, depends on who's ordered the scan. If it was a consultant at a hospital then it is them who is treating your mum, however if it was as you say the GP, then it should be the GP who explains the report. Is your step dad capable of understanding the GP? I too would suggest another telephone consult and if possible you could be there too, put on loudspeaker. Write down questions you want to ask and make sure you have the answers before you finish the call. Does she need referred to a specialist, will it be marked urgent or routine, what's the timescale etc.

Thanks. My stepdad and I have spoken with the consultant & he briefly explained the MRI but the actual extract he's provided appears to say more than his brief summary. My stepdad is muddled & struggling to accept the diagnosis etc.

Luckily I have managed to get some help from a dibber via a message & understand a lot more thankfully!
