Lack of 12 Seat Vans

We’ve called off our 2021 trip, and we’re starting the planning and budgeting for another trip, likely in 2023.

However, there seems to be very few hire car sites offering 12 seat vans (which is probably what we’d need).

Is this a permanent thing, or just an odd combination of factors?

You're probably looking too far in advance for 2023

Hiya RH, car hire prices are thro the roof at the moment, in part due to car suppliers selling some inventory, as travel opens they're struggling to obtain new vehicles as the Asian factory producing chips for new builds was/is closed due to the pandemic. As Jim said, perhaps leave surfing for a while to see if prices reduce in 2022, in the meantime check out Andy from Florida Discount Car Hire, who advertises on here, as his service is excellent. It's also worth ringing Andy when the time is right as he can sometimes obtain off-web prices.

One chap was recently quoted £2500 for a 3 week 7 seater, based on that figure perhaps a currently quoted 12 seater rate could be in the region of £1k a week.

Thanks - sounds like a plan (considering I usually pay around £1k for 3 weeks!)
