Yeah, this is why we were just looking at using Disney transport and not having the a car. Just using what was available to get to Universal for the days we plan on going.

We’re only doing 2 nights on-site next year, rest of the time will be at Hard Rock and the villa. I would happily stay at Cabana Bay for the duration, DH will not lol. So we compromise and a do a bit of everything!

I would lyft or Uber. Or book a few nights at the beginning in a universal hotel so you get fast passes & can walk to and from the parks to the hotel. As for eating out on Disney, in 2019 we didn’t have a dining plan and ate offsite a few times (we did have a car) the 192 is much closer than I drive so I would uber to there. Come and go at your leisure that way, rather than relying on any sort of pre booked transport.

Last year we stayed onsite for a fortnight but had 3 days at Universal. We didn't have a car so we used Lyft for each journey back and forth. Really easy and straightforward. All of the drivers were great.

I would recommend that you get the app installed prior to going. We got offers coming through on it and lucked out when we were over there as our first 10 trips had a 50% discount.

You'd think so, but I asked the reception desk at All-Stars Music, and boom, I was booked on a Mears shuttle going from the resort to Universal, along with a few other guests!

In the past, we've used Mears taxis. There are usually some waiting outside reception of your resort so you can just hop into one.

I guess nowadays I'd consider using Lyft or Uber instead. They will be cheaper than a standard taxi.

Again, the best option would be to use Uber/Lyft or a taxi.

International Drive is about 20 minutes drive away and, although I like it, I personally wouldn't head there just for a meal. There are other places closer.

There is a Lynx bus (#50, I think) that stops at Disney Springs and the Transport and Ticketing Centre (aka Magic Kingdom's car park) which then goes to the southern part of International Drive near Seaworld. But that's not convenient at all - you'd need to get to Disney Springs first then get a bus which isn't very frequent.

There's a bit more info about public transport in Orlando on the following DIBB Guidebook page:

https://www.thedibb.co.uk/forums/Orl...-Car-p-85.html

The above page is probably a bit out of date nowadays.

Used Lyft extensively as we found them way cheaper than Mears. On an Universal Day we would get one to Keke's (Dr Philips) have breakfast then organise the next one to Universal. You can also get the bus but logistically it's a pain, you have to change at Seaworld but I know the I-trolley used to go there as well, just not sure if that's still the case.

Thanks all, the agent I've spoken to has mentioned uber and Lyft.

They also mentioned that from 2022 they are Disney are no longer doing the magical express. Abit gutted about that.

Aye the removal of DME has not gone down well! Someone posted recently that Mears will take it on, as a cost option but guessing as a cost/person it won't be cheap. They already do something similar for Universal Hotels, this was from last year:
Roundtrip One-Way

Adult: $39.00, tax inclusive Adult: $23.00, tax inclusive

Child (3-11): $29.00, tax inclusive Child (3-11): $18.00, tax inclusive

I'm hoping using one of the apps will be cheaper for us when we arrive.
