Brain tumour diagnosis - what do I ask?
Hi all.
Tomorrow am expecting a call from consultant regarding my dad. We thought he had had a stroke but it turns out it is a brain tumour. The consultants are meeting and tomorrow they will call him and then call me (I assume to explain incase my dad didn’t take everything in). I have googled to give myself some info and to prepare myself for the call. I am just wondering if someone can give me ideas of what to expect/questions to ask. I feel my dad maybe won’t think - especially depending on what he is told so I feel it’s going to be down to me to make sure I have the full information. I know there are various grades - malignant and benign and various treatments but is there anything else I should ask? Thanks in advance. |

Ellelledee, I have recently been through this with my husband. I wish I was better prepared at the beginning so it’s good that you are preparing. Following the diagnosis I did tons of research, spoke to lots of medics and experts (even abroad) but I’m not an expert but I hope I can help.
I’ll send you a PM xx |

I think if there are options for different types of treatment then impact of each on his quality of life , duration of treatment and the differing rates of success .
I hope it’s a positive call for you all , such a difficult time. |

Can I suggest that you don’t start too much readings me research until you have a diagnosis. There are different types, grades etc and it can be too much to take in and a bit confusing.
Wait until you know exactly what you are dealing with and research that particular type |
