Is the Universal Explorer ticket a hopper ticket ?

Hi all,

As above really. I am presuming it is.

For 4A [ actually 2A + 2C but Universal now seem to class anyone older than 9 an adult ... sure that wasn't the case in 2015 ] in 2018, Orlando Attractions have the following prices:

5 day base ticket + Volcano Bay = £872
5 day hopper ticket + Volcano Bay = £1014
3 park explorer ticket = £963

By my reading of the descriptions of each ticket, the only different between the 'explorer' and 5 day 'hopper' is that explorer gives 14 days of access, right ?

Also, the only extra things you get with a hoppper over base is the ability to ride the Hogwarts Express and do both IOA and US on the same day, right ? A base ticket lets you go in and out of, say, IOA as many times as you like in a day, yes ?

Finally for the 5 day tickets, are they 5 consecutive days or any 5 days over a x week period ?

The Universal 3 Park Explorer ticket gives you 14 days unlimited admission into the 3 parks, so yes it is a Hopper ticket.

You're right the only difference between the Hopper ticket and the Base ticket is that the Hopper ticket allows you to ride the Hogwarts Express and park hop as many times as you want on the same day.

Yes you can go in and out of IOA with the Base ticket on the same day as many times as you want.

The 5 day tickets do not have to be used on consecutive days, they can be used over the week. Below is from the orlandoattractions.com site.

Tickets Expire 7 days after activation. Days do not have to be used consecutively.

Hope this helps.

Lyn1 has answered your questions.

Just to echo what he said: yes, the Explorer ticket is a hopper ticket and, yes, the only difference between a 5 day Hopper and an Explorer ticket are the number of days access - 5 days versus 14 days.

I think this has always been the case, or at least for a very long time. Certainly back in 2015 those over 9 years old had to get "adult" tickets.

It's the same with Disney tickets, where over-9s have had to buy adult tickets since 1987 (before Universal Studios even opened in Florida).
