I believed it to be a timing issue, and that may still be the case with my problem. However others reported being able to book 30 minutes or so before I could, and we've seen people like yourself unable to book a day or so later, so now I'm certain it's something more fundamental with Disney's payments system or a 3rd party they interface with.
For me the most annoying and unnecessary factor is the display of inappropriate/unhelpful error messages. I know precisely why this happens and precisely how to fix it, yet it plagues all IT systems the world over. The problem with IT is that its expanding too fast, way faster than anything we've ever had. With few exceptions every sector "needs" it. We've gone from the 50's, with computer science and chaps in lab coats, to every man and his dog being in IT. The levels of incompetence are staggering. Sure, incompetence is everywhere these days, with the growth of ultra capitalism, but IT is beyond the pale. |
