If Southgate goes with his normal negative stuff, I would expect Gallagher will play alongside Rice. If he tries to fit in all of Bellingham, Foden, Saka & Palmer behind Kane, I suspect Bellingham will play as an 8 along side Rice.

Personally, I'd like to see the best player in the world, Bellingham, play at 10 & have Eze & Palmer on the bench encouraging Saka & Foden to excel. I'd play TAA alongside Rice.

This has been awful…. Seems all the players picked for the squad and played tonight have not really shown why they have been picked.

The defence we have ended the game with is laughable… as soon as we come up against anyone half decent they will easily be found out.

I admit I thought we were going to have a good run of it this year - after that, they need to do some serious work if they are getting out of the group stages! 😢

Defensively poor - Branthwaite, Tarky, Maguire - all far better options for me (yes I’m biased on the first two, but their performances this season particularly have been disregarded in favour of this lot? ! ) 😔 Need Stones fully fit for a start.

Frankly annoyed when they said last night that Southgate had sent those other players home ‘early’ - so he had the opportunity to keep them longer? Why on earth did he send them early and not keep his options open, or did I misunderstand that bit & he had to make the decision by then?

We have the players to win it but I don’t think we have the manager to win it.
Yes, the defence is short of at least 2 top class players but with the midfield and forward players we have, we could outscore most teams if the manager let the team play that way.
